All the info you need to know to make an informed decision about getting your next tattoo with Bec Star.
THE FOLLOWING IS THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
OF MAKING A BOOKING WITH BEC STAR.
By Paying your deposit and securing a booking you agree to the terms and conditions outlined on this page.
- BOOKING IN -
How do I go about booking with you?
At the bottom of this page is a link to send Bec a booking/quote submission.
How much do you charge?
Prices range from $200 onwards depending on your idea, size of project and complexity. Minimum cost is $200 to max of $1400 a day.
We will provide a quote and you will be offered available dates for your preferred month. There is no obligation to go ahead with making a booking after receiving the quote.
If you have a budget you would like to stick too please note that in your initial enquiry and Bec will be able to let you know what she can tattoo within your budget.
What time of the day can I book?
We have sessions starting at 11:30am onwards.
Can we have a face to face consult to discuss my idea once I am booked?
Yes most definitely , we want you to feel comfortable and confident in expressing your design idea and can accommodate consultations either face to face at the studio in Stawell or alternatively we can do a consult via zoom or email.
As Bec has been tattooing for many years she can get a really good idea of your tattoo by having an online consultation, so it's not imperative that you do a face to face consultation if you can not travel.
What days of the week does Bec tattoo?
It varies week to week. Bec can accommodate bookings to your preference.
Once I book a date do you send out a confirmation about my booking?
Yes, you will receive an email from us with your booking confirmation.
This will outline your booking, what to expect, how to prepare for your tattoo, parking options, numbing guide, aftercare info and much more about your upcoming appointment.
- DESIGNS -
How does your drawing process work?
The week leading up to your appointment Bec will contact you to do the final consultation before the drawing process commences. During the final consultation you will both discuss the concept for your piece and at this time you will finalize all concept ideas including placement and sizing.
In this consult Bec will give you her advice on what may work best for your piece and chat further about design options.
From there, drawings are done 1 to 2 days prior to your appointment based off your final ideas.
The concept drawing will be sent to you via email along with any notes Bec may have for your tattoo.
Will the drawing look like the final tattoo?
Bec approaches tattoo concept drawings like a painting, it is usually a simple underpainting style drawing that has a general layout that will be overlaid upon your photo of the area to be tattooed so you can see the concept layout on your skin. The concept drawing is just a basic concept as all the magic happens once the tattoo process begins.
Again, Bec's approach is much like a painting where she builds layers of tones and values as she tattoos.
Can you tattoo a design you have already done?
All tattoos are custom designed for each client and replication is not possible, she can however use a prior tattoo as inspiration.
Can you tattoo a design I drew or that my friend drew?
Yes, however some changes may need to be made to ensure it can be tattooed.
When Do I get to see the draw up?
Bec does draw ups on a weekly basis, so expect to receive it 1 to 2 days prior to your appointment .
What if I want to make changes to the drawing once I have received it?
No worries, please let Bec know what you may like adjusted. Should you wish to make small changes to your draw up that is done on the day of your booking. All changes will contribute to the overall time allocated.
On the very rare occasion that you require a full re-draw you will be charged a new draw up fee to cover Bec's time (same fee as deposit ). If a full re-draw is needed we may need to reschedule your appointment to allow time to complete a new concept drawing.
What if I decide to do something different than what I originally sent her?
If you decide you would like something different please let us know asap as there may be a change in the quote or amount of sessions needed. Please note if the allocated time of your original booking is not suitable for the new design changes we will need to book you a new date.
You can then discuss all your changes in full with Bec during your consult.
Do you do cover ups or reworks of old tattoos?
Yes, on occasion Bec will do a cover up/rework , this is a specialised skill and not every tattoo will be able to be reworked or covered. Feel free to send through images of what you are thinking of covering/reworking and she can assess what’s possible.
Is there anything you don't tattoo?
No offensive, racist, or discriminatory tattoos.
Does Bec draw designs for people that aren’t booked in to get tattooed by her?
No

Bec no longer offers healings, readings and channeled tattoos.
- PAYMENTS AND CHARGES -
Do you require a booking fee?
Yes, to secure all bookings a non-refundable $100 to 250 booking fee per session booked needs to be paid to secure the date. ( booking fee will vary depending on your type of booking )
This must be paid instantly upon booking via bank transfer.
Booking fees are non refundable under any circumstance.
The booking fee comes off the total price of your tattoo on the day unless you have requested alterations to your booking , cancelled within 7 days , or require a new drawup - in this instance your booking fee void and you will be required to pay a new booking fee.
What payment do you accept on the day of my booking?
Cash or Bank Transfer or Eftpos (1.3% surcharge for ETF transactions)
Can I pre pay/lay-by for my tattoo?
Unfortunately we do not like to be responsible for large payments, so we do not offer a layby service.
I want to book a full day, is there special information I need to know?
Full day bookings are now required an initial non refundable $250 deposit upon booking.
If less than 7 days notice is given to change your appointment for a full day tattoo you will be required to pay 50% if your total cost , Full day bookings are not easy to fill at the last minute and Bec's time needs to be covered.
All payments are non refundable- see cancellations/reschedules below for more info.
What happens to my booking fee if I can’t make my appointment anymore?
We understand that sometimes things happen in life that are out of your control so given more than 7 days notice we can transfer your booking once to an alternative date (if available) or place you on the waiting list for a suitable month.
Less than 7 days notice you will forfeit your booking fee and any additional payments you may of made .
Deposits are non refundable - no exceptions.
If you cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment you will forfeit your deposit and be required to pay 50% of your total tattoo cost to cover losses in business if Bec can not fill your appointment slot (full day clients see previous question for Full Day bookings )
If you are a no show on the day you will be charged 100% of the cost of your tattoo, no exceptions.
What happens ,if , on the day of our appointment I 'TAP' out (meaning you can’t go on)?
This is a very rare occurrence, You will still pay the full fee as per quote as Bec has booked your session in for that allocated time.
If you have a low pain tolerance or know you can’t get tattooed for extended periods of time we recommend you mention that in your initial inquiry so we can book you accordingly. There is also information on numbing below.
What happens if I’m a “no show” on the day of my scheduled appointment ?
If you are a no show on the day you will be charged 100% of your total quote, no exceptions.
- NUMBING -
Can I numb my skin before our session?
Yes you are welcome to numb your skin should you choose, however there is only 2 numbing creams that we would recommend you use as it doesn't effect the process of tattooing or the healing of the tattoo - you can request this information upon making your booking.
We strongly recommend you follow manufacturers guidelines and instructions of use as we will not be liable for any adverse reactions you may have when using the product.
This numbing cream can last any where from 2 hours to 5 hours and can be reapplied during the tattoo process.
Always do a test patch prior to use.
- PRE TATTOO INFO/ AFTERCARE/ POST BOOKING INFO -
I have a medical condition that may affect the tattoo process, what should I do prior?
We will do everything we can to ensure your safety and comfort during your session. Please let us know about your medical condition during the initial consultation process/email , there are some medical conditions that will affect getting a tattoo/tattoo healing. All information is strictly confidential and will not be shared with anyone.
Tattooing is a medical procedure so its important we are aware of your health conditions prior.
I’m on Medication, will that affect the tattoo?
Some medications can affect the tattoo process and healing, its important to let us know what medication you are on so we can advise if there will be any potential issues.
I am prone to low blood pressure /passing out or have a fear around medical procedures, what should I do?
Please let us know in your submission form.
I have a skin condition , can I still get tattooed?
Certain skin conditions doesn’t allow for the skin to be tattooed, if your concerned please let us know in your initial inquiry and we can let you know.
Are the inks/products you use cruelty free?
YES, we use cruelty free products.
Bec also uses as many organic/natural/sustainable products as possible.
I have questions about the process, do you use high quality , single use needles?
We use only the highest quality products for each procedure, everything is single use , medical grade products.
All tattoo needles are single use , sterile, 316L stainless steel.
We pride ourselves on a clean environment to work in and for clients to be confident in their procedure.

Will you tell me about tattoo aftercare?
Yes absolutely, Bec will explain in detail about how to care for your tattoo. You can also view the aftercare procedure on this website by clicking on the “tattoo" tab.
We provide full aftercare packs for each client including second skin, aftercare ointment & anti bacterial wash.
Do I need to take time off after the tattoo?
You may, depending on where you got tattooed, your occupation etc.
If you are worried feel free to mention it in your initial inquiry and discuss further in the consult.
You will not be able to swim, have a bath or soak in water, sun bake, do strenuous exercise, roll around in mud and all that fun stuff for at least 2 weeks as your skin needs to heal.
- LOCATION - TRAVELING - PARKING - ACCOMMODATION -
Where is you studio located?
Have you ever heard of Australias oldest running Footrace, 'The Stawell Gift’ , well thats what our little town is famous for. Our studio is located in the town centre at 57 Star Lane Stawell, VICTORIA .
Stawell is located an easy 2 hour drive west from Melbourne Airport along the Western Highway.
We are at the gateway to the amazing Grampians National Park which has a stunning mountain range, lookouts, walks, hikes and Waterfalls.
Is their accommodation near your studio?
Yes PLENTY…. there is everything from budget backpackers, air bnb, caravan parks, small motels & hotels
Our choice and recommendation would be to look at accommodation in Halls Gap, which is an easy 20min drive from our studio.
Halls Gap is at the base of the spectacular Grampians National Park surrounded by mountain's and is our top preference for somewhere to stay.
If you don't have a transport you could also find accommodation in Stawell, Great Western (15 mins from studio) and Ararat (25 mins from studio) which are all accessed by Public transport.
We recommend that if you are traveling and have booked flights/accommodation that they are exchangeable or refundable.
Bec will not be liable for any losses under any circumstances.
Is there Parking available at your studio?
Yes there is free all day parking out the back of our studio down the end of Star Lane along Church Street.
- ILLNESS RESTRICTIONS -
Due to recent events our process has slightly changed.
If you have been unwell, feel ill or have been around anyone who has been unwell in your household within 7 days of your appointment we will need to reschedule your appointment without question.
If you show any symptoms of being unwell when you arrive we will ask you leave and we reschedule.
We will pay you the same courtesy of course.
This is not just limited to flu like symptoms, if you have had Covid, Gastro, Common cold etc, it’s best to play it safe as we all need to keep as healthy as possible.
If you have had any sunburn, skin rash or recent illness please let Bec know in advance so she can asses whether your skin and your immune system/health is at its optimal to receive a tattoo.
Your immune system needs to be at its best to have a good tattoo experience and optimal healing.
